Someone Needs Spanked . . .

And it ain't me this time.

I KNOW it's a holiday. And I KNEW the store would be busy but COME ON!!!

On the way there, my cell rang. It was Adam. He was just calling to say hi I love you miss you want you need you etc. Once we got past that he asked what I was doing.

"I'm on my way to Walmart."

"Oh no. It's going to be busy. Don't hurt anyone."

"Don't worry. I'm medicated."

"Oh, yeah. I forgot."

We wrapped up the conversation as I pulled into the parking lot. It honestly didn't look all that busy so I thought it might not be too bad.

Geeze, Louise.

The first person I wanted to spank was blocking the pet aisle with her cart. All I wanted was some stinkin' rawhide bones for the pup. I patiently waited three feet from her while she looked at Dog toys. TWO TIMES she looked right at me and NEVER once offered to move her cart. She was taking her half out of the middle. I ended up having to go ALL THE WAY down the next aisle and up from the other end.

As I approached this woman LOOKED AT ME AGAIN and left.

Someone needs to teach her some manners! And at that moment I would have been happy to do the job myself. I hear Walmart sells a pretty mean bathbrush.

The bones are chicken flavored. The pup loves them.

My kids want a bunny cake for Easter. Never mind that they are all in their twenties. They always had a bunny cake when they were small and have jokingly requested one this year. That's as good as a dare if you ask me.

The bunny cake requires some shoe string licorice and jelly beans which meant *GASP* the candy aisle. At Easter? Good grief.

There were buggies headed in both directions and they were bumper to bumper. I felt as though I was on an eight lane highway at rush hour. And wouldn't you know it? The licorice was on the opposite side.

I don't know about you but crossing an eight lane busy highway for a bag of licorice isn't my idea of a good time. And of course I had to stand there and wait while another customer looked over the stuff on MY SIDE of the highway. And when she moved on? The next person quickly parked their buggy right in front of the licorice. I tried to dodge in and grab it quick. Honest I did but she almost hit me. Mean, mean lady.

FINALLY I just reached in around and under her cart and was able to JUST barely reach it. All that for a whole entire bag of licorice when I only need a few tiny pieces to make whiskers out of!! Again, I'm thinking some manners need taught. Maybe I should have stopped off in the paint department for one of those stirrers that Grace speaks so highly of.

And the straw that broke the camels very sore back was when I headed down an aisle for something WAY at the other end and about the time I was half way there someone turned up the aisle from another direction. And then someone ELSE turned up the aisle and guess what? These two women parked their carts SIDE BY SIDE while they looked at each other's side of the highway.

I'm thinking "didn't they take driver's ed? don't they know that head on collisions are NOT a good thing?" I waited patiently until finally one of them moved. Of course it was the one in MY LANE so she had to go around me. As she and her middle school aged daughter passed by I heard her say "Some people are just rude. They need to go in the right direction."

She was referring to me. She was on the WRONG frickin' side and callin' ME rude?

Did you know that grocery store aisles are one way streets? Me neither. I thought if you stayed on the right side of the road - especially when traffic's heavy - that fatalities and other mishaps would be avoided. Apparently I was the rude one. NOT. I was patient with these people. Being medicated helps enormously.

It's just lucky for them that I stayed out of the bath and paint sections of the store today. Seriously.

Party Pictures!!

Hey Everyone!!

I got the pictures uploaded finally. You know - the ones I took at the party at Grace's place a couple weeks ago.

Wow!!

That was some party, huh?

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures ....

At fist, I didn't think Grace and Bossman were EVER going to leave!!!

When we first got there, I was in the kitchen getting things ready for the party. PK was SUPPOSED to be helping me, but guess where she was?

After I took a POP break I had to go look for other help because it was obvious that Elis was NOT going to get off Grace's computer. That's okay though because from what I've heard, I wouldn't want her in the kitchen anyhow.

That Tiggr!! She'll do darn near anything on a dare!! Theresa didn't think that she would really bounce ten feet in the air if she dropped from way up there. You showed her, huh Tiggs?

Cassie, You really needed to slow down. Really. The party lasted all weekend. If Tom ever catches you driving like that you'll NEVER get to go with your friends again on their weekend trips.

And can anyone tell me why, please, that MTHC was in the sink every time
I went in the bathroom?????

Ceeci showed up to help me in the kitchen but got to horsing around. All she wanted to do was go watch some movies. That girl!! Sheesh!!! After I horsed around with her for a few minutes she settled in to help.
And Carye hates having her picture taken. I snapped this just as she was lunging at the camera.

I don't know about you, but I think that Paul and David did a mighty fine job of guarding the place and keeping an eye out for Grace and Bossman.

PK was kissing Reesa all over. It had been a while since we'd all seen Reesa. We were all glad to see her but PK really worries about everyone so she was especially relieved when Reesa showed up!

That was so much fun when Bonnie showed up!! She really knows how to get a party rockin'!!

Tiggr!! What's that you're eating? I thought you wanted cheesecake!!

That Theresa... she was such a party pooper. What is it with her and high places? She spent the whole weekend up there on that pole waiting for us to leave so she could clean the place. I told her that wanting to clean was fine but she was missing the party!!

GROUP PICTURE!! Aren't we all beautiful?

Uh-oh. Paul's hungry and he doesn't look very happy! I think SOMEONE'S in trouble!

I KNEW those girls wouldn't be able to stay awake for two whole movies. Ceeci! They missed the best part!!

Grace and Bossman did come home a bit sooner than we expected so we had to hide. They NEVER saw us. They walked right under us and didn't even know we were there.

That sure was a fun party. Just be sure to not let Grace see these pictures. That girl does NOT need proof!!!

Three Fun Pictures

I'm just curious... How many of us had this cake topper on our wedding cakes? How many of us WOULD have had it had we known about it? I'm thinking it would even be good for an anniversary cake so how about it? Why don't you buy one for your next anniversary party? Just think of the comments it would get. And I'm thinking no one would ever think we actually DO that. They would just think it's funny.

And what I want to know is WHO says you can't spank grandma? I know of a few grandmas hanging around here who are spanked regularly and for sure when my grandkids come along ..... well... you know..... I say you can and SHOULD spank grandma. How about you?

And this picture is just plain silly. I honestly don't think squirrels are into this sort of lifestyle. You never know though.

A Winter Poem

Most who know me well know that I don't like crappy email forwards.

I LOVE the funny ones. And I like the ones that touch the soul and bring a tear to the eye. Those aren't the ones I'm talking about.

I'm talking about the flea market kind.

You know the ones.... sappy poems that sound like they should be embroidered onto something made of plastic canvas and sold at a flea market.

Now before I step on any toes, if that's your thing, FANTASTIC. It's just not mine.

I'm sure you'll understand and grant me that when I remind you that my thing is math but it's probably not yours. I respect that and I grant you that.

So with that said, I got this email from a friend today and boy oh boy it had flea market sappy written all over it. I nearly deleted it but by the time I got to the end I was glad I took the time to read it. It's quite lovely.

See for yourself......

I found this beautiful winter poem and thought it might be a comfort to you.
