Happy Birthday, Eva
Your very own Chippendale! Happy Birthday!
Thank You
I want to thank everyone who stops by today to wish me a happy birthday on this, my 39th, birthday. I especially want to thank CeeCi for redecorating my place. I LOVE it. And I also especially want to thank my twin, PK, for opening her big mouth about my birthday... bless her heart. I love you all... friends, lurkers, everyone. Thanks for making my day special.

Mammogram Fun
Yesterday morning Adam went with me to a "breast care center." He's starting to remind me of Cassie's Tom when it comes to my health. When he came home Friday and saw the letter stating my mammogram was a concern and they wanted to see me for more boobie fun he immediately picked up the phone and called making yesterday's appointment. Geeze. I was thinking I'd call them around Thanksgiving. After all, it did say "call at your convenience."So anyhow, they told him they'd be doing a sonogram. Okay. I suppose I can live with that if they aren't going to smash me again. And because Adam knows how very much I hate this stuff he went along with me. I'm not sure if he goes to these things with me because a) he's afraid I'll ditch the appointment b) he wants to be supportive or c) he'll grab any chance to see me naked. My guess it's a combo of all three. Honestly though I feel much safer when I'm with him. I'm not sure why that is. I just have this feeling that he can make everything okay.
So anyhow, they called me back. That is when my heart jumped and fears set in. I looked at Adam and said "come with me." He was already picking up his things. He'd brought along paper work to work on. They told him he'd have to wait until after the sonogram was done.
Sigh.
I'm a baby. I wanted to cry. I think he knew that too. He looked helpless.
Anyhow, back we go. Ladies you know the drill... strip from the waist up and put on this little tiny one size fits all paper sleeveless top... "and leave it open in the front."
As the technician began the sonogram I started to panic. It was taking forever and I could see all kinds of big blobs on the screen. Finally she says "I need a spot picture. Come with me."
Now I really panicked. I didn't know what the heck was happening or what she was seeing. I had been so sure they wouldn't find anything. This simple sonogram was turning into a long, scary ordeal.
Do you know what a spot picture is? Apparently it's where they switch the plates on the boob crusher for smaller ones and then crank the dang thing tighter than it's ever been cranked before. She asks "You okay?"Eeeeep.
This picture's caption is "How to practice for a mammogram."
Anyhow, she then tells me to HOLD MY BREATH.
Gentlemen, I double dog dare you to put your nuts in a vice, crank it just once more after you think you can't possibly take anymore and then hold your breath.
So much for telling me I wouldn't be getting smashed.
After that we went back to the sonogram room. By this time she had stickers on my boob marking the spots she wanted to scan AND I had managed to pretty much rip their pretty little blue paper shirt into about 4 pieces. On the way back to the sonogram room I just did my best to keep the girls covered.
So here I am thinking the smashing was to be in place of the sonogram. Oh. No. Of course not. That was just to show her exactly where she was aiming for. She had me lay back down, stickers and all.
Finally she was done and said she would now go get Adam. She also said she was going to go "write up her report" and that the doc would be in soon. Adam took forever so I had plenty of time to think. And text PK. Then I played a little Sudoku on my phone. I actually was pretty calm by then. As I explained to Adam why it had taken so long it occurred to me...
Duh...
It took her forever because she was looking for something that just wasn't there.
Whew.
Finally the doc came in and confirmed that. He said I had some inconsequential cysts that were meaningless but if they were to grow or cause me pain I'm to call immediately. In the meantime I'm good till next year.
On the way home, Adam kept telling me he was glad I was okay. I dropped him back off at work. I went in to use the restroom before heading home from there. When I went to leave he gave me a hug, rubbed my boobs and said "I'm so relieved the girls are okay."
Me, too but I think I'm going to get one of these things in the picture and just have Adam do these tests for me in the future. So another hoop is completely jumped through.
We're getting there. Still plenty of appointments but mostly now they are counseling sessions and support group meetings. I went to my school yesterday and made arrangements for the first of the year. They are being greatly supportive and are going along just fine with my plan of coming in earlier than we are typically allowed to prep my room and get things ready for a sub. I think they were kind of thankful that I want to do that because by all rights I could leave them high and dry for the first couple weeks. That would just be harder on me though because I'd have to do it all after hours when I do go back. I have a feeling I'll have plenty to keep me busy without starting off that far behind.
And yeah!! I'm sooooo excited. PK wants to come spend a couple days with me after surgery. I wish I could say we'll have a blast but who knows how bad of shape I'll be in or how much I'll want to sleep. How cool is it that she doesn't really care about all that? She just wants to come. And Adam is happy about that too. She was worried that he'd want me all to himself. For what? LOL Nope, he doesn't. He's glad. He told me ten times last night that if she flies, he wants to pick her up himself. I'll just be glad she's here. She's promised to pat my head and scratch me behind the ears if I look like I'm not feeling well. LOL
So what's new with you?

Our New Favorite Restaurant
While in Savannah we spied this restaurant. We laughed like a couple of teenagers but didn't go in. I mean, it would be obvious to the world, wouldn't it? I was pretty sure that everyone would stare, point, and laugh.
And then the next day we took a drive to Tybee Island. Wow! That was a fun, fantastic day. On the way there we saw billboards for this place. It had the same rooster as in the picture below and he was flipping the bird (honest) on it. I searched the internet for him but can't find him. If any of you find it, email me a copy of it.

This time, at Tybee Island we couldn't resist. I was glad, too because I had the most awesome shrimp and cheese quesadilla known to mankind.
Spanky's.
A restaurant named Spanky's. Who would have ever thought it?

Life Goes On
Our son in law is here today giving it the final sanding. He's been in and out helping us with patching the walls and sanding them. When he leaves in a bit Adam is going to start priming the woodwork which shouldn't take long at all. Tomorrow we'll paint the walls and then start painting the trim if time allows. I hope to be completely done and just waiting on the furniture by Wednesday.
Last night we went shopping. We found drapes that are going to be perfect. They were on sale which was nice. It was a buy one get the other one for a buck. The rods are nice too. We've always had plain old rods but these look like pewter sort of with leaves on the end. The curtains are a mix of burgundy, green, and deep gold. The print is a floral plaid combo sort of.
We found a bedspread on the Internet. It should be perfect. It's a solid deep olive green. (yup, that's the one we ordered) We got a few throw pillows in burgundy and gold. We need a lamp. That's all we need to finish it off as far as I'm concerned.Well, my son in law just left so I guess I better get off my butt and go back to helping Adam. I'm not sure if he'll trust me with a paintbrush or not. It's not my favorite thing in the world to do and I'm not all that good at it but I certainly don't want him feeling like he has to do everything.
Spanking? Oh yeah. Spanking. Adam keeps threatening. In fact he left me a note yesterday that said he wanted to spank me today if I was feeling up to it. I'm physically up to it. No problem.
Mentally? My mind is in a million places. I keep failing medical tests and that is very disheartening because it means MORE tests... MORE hoops. I failed my bone density test. I failed my PAP and yesterday I found out I failed my mammogram. I'm quite sick of it all. She did more extensive tests where the PAP is concerned and I'm off the hook there till December. On Monday I have to go for a sonogram of the right boob. I'm sure it's nothing but you know how these medical people are. They have to make sure. Sometimes I think they think "Oh, lookie here... good insurance... let's milk it."
Anyhow, I admit that mentally I'm in a million places these days. All I really want to do is finish the bedroom, curl up on my new bed, and watch a baseball game on TV.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th to those who are celebrating it. I think this is the first year ever that we don't have anything planned - and that's by choice so it's okay. The D & C went well on Monday. Adam was quite excited that I went to bed with no panties on last night. That was the first time since early May! I was excited too. Even though we have doctor's orders for "no sexual activity" for two weeks, it was oh, so very nice to have him rub my bare bottom.
We're redoing our bedroom. The wallpaper is down. I knew it had been up way too long. I'd figured about 10 years. As it came down we found where my brother who had hung it for us had signed his name on the wall and dated it. 1988. My wallpaper had been up nineteen years. Ew. Gross. I know.
We're painting the walls a deep, dark, yellow, mustardy color with off white trim. We're about ready to start painting but our son in law is going to sand out the rough spots on the walls for us first. Painting won't take long at all.
We were finally inspired to do all this because we have new bedroom furniture on order. It's supposed to be in by the 15th of this month. We ordered it about the first of June knowing we'd go on vacation and then come home and deal with this. I can't WAIT to see the room done. We've never had what I would call a nice bedroom.
We've been using his grandparent's furniture for ever. Although sentimental it's U-G-L-Y. Ugly. We're turning our girls' room into a "guest room." It will be adequate for when any of them come home AND for when PK and Nick ...er... I mean anyone comes to visit. The UGLY stuff can go in there. This way I don't have to look at it and Adam gets to keep it. I would NEVER suggest he get rid of it. It means too much to him. And that's the ONLY reason I've suffered with it all these years.
Three old, non-sentimental dressers have been pitched. At the moment my room is BARE except for the bed and the TV. Gotta watch baseball at night, ya know. Let me talk about our bed for a minute..... The new mattress is here already and it's one of those big thick ones. I think I need a little step stool. We got the pup some doggie steps. He could make the jump but didn't like to and we were afraid he'd hurt himself. He's so cute going up and down his little steps. So the mattress and box springs are fine but we haven't had a head board for 20 years.
A long time ago we had an old 4 poster bed. We broke it. Quit laughing. It wasn't because we were over zealous or anything. The wood was old, dry, brittle. Yup. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. But boy oh boy was it a sensation when the box spring and mattress just dropped to the floor. We were stunned at first. Then we laughed. Then we finished what we were doing.
The next day we bought a cheap metal frame and that, my friends, has been our bed forever. The furniture that is coming is very very very close to this:

Is that not downright gorgeous? I CAN'T wait. Our room is going to feel like heaven and I can't wait for that first spanking on that bed!! I'll have wood to hold onto!!
I think what excites me the most is the clean feel of fresh paint and new furniture. I didn't realize how dirty and crappy our room had gotten until we pulled it all apart.
No, wait... the spankings excite me the most. I'll be so glad when all medical hoops have been jumped through and we can resume our life again. Oh, and get this.... you know our youngest moved home for the summer? That, naturally, has put a damper on our lives anyhow, but with my "condition" it hasn't mattered because that, too, has put a damper on things. We're looking forward to all surgeries being complete and getting back to NORMAL, fun spanking and sex. That requires offspring #3 going back to school along with getting surgeries out of the way. So guess when she goes back to school? THE DAY BEFORE MY SURGERY!! Geeze. We just can't win.
She doesn't want to go then but really there is NO need for her to be here for it. I'll be fine. She can call her dad as much as she wants to check on me. I think though that PK and Nick should come to stay with me after my surgery and keep me company. They could have her room!! Perfect.
So anyhow, happy 4th!!
