Wants Vs. Needs

Bonnie presented us with the question of whether spanking is more a need or a want. My first response was "BOTH." She, however didn't offer that as a choice so I had to decide. Funny but it seems like others are saying what I felt at the time. It started out as a want but is now a need.

Hmmmm......

I think I was a bit quick in voting for it as a need.

I mean ... air... that's a need. Food? Wouldn't guess it by looking at me but that's another need. Without these essentials we would die for sure. Therefore they are needs.

As I drove to work - and it's a long drive - I couldn't get this out of my mind. I was thinking that we .... not one of us can claim spanking to be a need because we survived before and we could survive without it. We just don't WANT to have to survive without it, yes?

So it's a want.

Not a need.

But wait......

Where in the world did I ever get this idea that if it's not a matter of life or death then it's a want... and wanting is selfish.

I need food but is wanting steak over hamburger selfishness?

Where am I going?

Well let's see, I'm wondering, could it be that it doesn't have to be life and death to be a need? I need a light on in a dark room so that I can read. Will I die without it? Nope. I won't. But it's a need at the moment.

I need my computer to communicate with all of you but would I die without it? Nope.

So these spankings that I could only want and wish for all these years... were they a need? Not in the sense of life or death. No. They were merely a want.

So then why do I feel like they are a need?

Because......

I feel submissive because of them....

Sex is better because of them....

My broken marriage was healed because of them....

I've learned to respect my husband because of them....

He's learned to love me in the way I need to be loved because of them...

We are happier because of them.....

They may not be the air we breathe in our marriage but they are most certainly a form of nourishment for what we share. We've grown and thrived over the past five years since we started TTWD.

If saying I want this is selfish, then I'm selfish. But I'm right back to my original answer on Bonnie's poll. It's a need. Without it, my marriage was dying. With it, my marriage is thriving. I don't particularly care to return to that dying state. I don't want to go back... only forward. Maybe it is a matter of life and death after all.

Gosh, I hope Adam feels the same way.

Yes, Indeedy - I'm Quite Proud of This Find

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.

Did you ever find something so awesome that you just had to share it with the rest of the world? Did you ever hear something so unbelievable that you just have to tell someone?

Lookie what I found....

Are you ready for this? I had to dig really really deep for it. And the best part was that I really wasn't looking.... and I for sure was NEVER expecting this particular blogger to have ever made this particular comment in her blog. I thought about making it a bonus question for a quiz but I don't think I'm going to do quizzes anymore.

I HIGHLY recommend when you have the time go read this particular blog all the way back to its beginning. It's funny. It's serious. It's sad. Some things said downright broke my heart. I mean this is one of my favorite bloggers who seems to be lacking in self esteem. And I can't imagine why... not for the life of me...

Yeah, I know. You're probably wondering who I'm talking about. Patience. Just recently a friend and I were talking and she commented that this person is so funny and so wonderful to know... and that sadly she doesn't seem to realize how funny and wonderful she is. The more I've read this person's blog, the more I'm convinced my friend was right in that statement. This fellow blogger is a favorite, that's for sure. I don't think she realizes how awesome she is though.

Anyhow, this was the funniest quote that I've ever read. You'll see why when you read it and realize who wrote it. I'll be laughing forever.

Okay, so here's the quote....

Tomorrow is the last day of school. Thank goodness. I'm ready for a break from the homework headaches and worrying about the wildchilds grades. I'm ready to sleep in and just have some fun.

Now scroll down... way down to learn who wrote it....

Do you know who said it?

Yep.

Our one and only Grace. Click on her name. Go see for yourself. You HAVE to see for yourself. She's already tried once in the past 24 hours to lie her way out of something she said. I will NOT allow it this time!!!

This is the same Grace who drove the nails in the coffins of every teacher in the universe just a few months ago by rejoicing in their demise when they returned to their classrooms. The SAME person. Do you believe it? I think this is a bit inconsistent, yes? She couldn't WAIT for school to start two months ago but I found it!! I found proof that she REALLY lives for it to be over. A bit fickle, don't you think?

Okay... Enough fun. Allow me to speak from the heart here.....

Grace is one of my most favorite friends these days. She's fun. She's amazingly quick. She's talented. I just love reading anything she writes which is why I am in the middle of reading her entire blog and think everyone should read it, too. And when I found that particular quote.... well I quit worrying about finding a topic for a post tomorrow. It was perfect. And her blog is perfect for all us spankos who don't quite understand ourselves. We're not alone. We're all alike in many ways.

Love you Grace!!! You're the best!!! Thanks for letting us peak into your world.

Prestigious P

Paper ~ Helpful when doing math

Pencil ~ So's this

Pie ~ This is the kind of pie you eat... like pumpkin and apple.

Photos ~ Sometimes things are mathematically explained better with a picture.

Panties ~ Remember my post on Panties? If Eva bought 13 then and 7 more at a later date, how many non-white, non-plain cotton does she now have? And if 4 of them are boy briefs... oh, never mind. You all will just whine like 120 kids I know if I ask you to do math.

Pastimes ~ Would you believe that when my children were small and I would put them down for a nap I would get out math books and work the problems just for fun... it was a wonderful pastime.

Padding ~ Can't think of anything mathematical for this one but I do have a funny story. My youngest daughter, God love her, went to get fitted for the alterations for her bridesmaid dress for her sister's wedding. She came home and I asked "How'd it go with Jan?" and she said, "She's adding some shoulder pads to the dress."

Delayed reaction from me, the mom. I said, "Wait. The dress is a halter..." and she said "that's not where she's putting them mom." Poor kid is an A cup and doesn't look likely to change.

Panda bears ~ 5 little panda bears in a tree. One fell out and broke his knee. 4 Little panda bears in a tree..... hehehe

Pears and Peaches ~ If you have 3 peaches and your brother has 4 pears ... yeah, yeah... you have fruit salad. That's an old one.

Preachers and Pastors ~ On a more serious note, did you know that October is clergy appreciation month? If you go to church, drop your preacher/pastor/Rev/priest whoever... a note or card or get him a gift certificate to a restaurant or something.

Pain ~ Some people think math is painful.

Parade ~ But I think it's more like a parade of fun things... Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Calc... Gives me goose bumps. Not really.

Parents ~ Ask Elis about this one!!

Patience ~ I've learned a lot of this from the above P word.

People ~ I don't care if they live in my world as long as they don't breathe my oxygen. Okay you might find it hard to believe that I love being alone. I do great at work and church and stuff but I am happier here in my own little world.

Pizza ~ Great way to teach fractions. If Tom ate 1/2 a pizza and Joe ate 1/4 a pizza, how much pizza is left in the box?

Packages ~ Screw the math. Packages are a blast!! Especially when you aren't expecting them.

Paddle ~ An adult store was having a clearance sale on a particular type of paddle. Three customers came in. The first customer bought half of the remaining paddles plus half a paddle.

Oh, wait... I think I've heard that one somewhere before.

Pajamas ~ I'm in mine right now, thank you very much. After 3 straight nights of sex and spankings, I'm going to sleep well tonight.

Park ~ Somewhere to go when the braincells have been burnt out by the math.

Partner ~ If I ever lose mine, you might as well shoot me. It's like this.... fraction lesson... pay attention... it takes two halves to make a whole and sometimes half just isn't enough.

Peace ~ Pray for our servicemen.

Peanut butter ~ Nothing is better than a peanut butter sandwich with tomato soup.

Penis ~ Oh, please.. like you weren't waiting for this one... like it's not on your own list!!

Pepper ~ I put it on darn near everything.

Pink and Purple ~ Pastels ... they soothe the savage soul... mine anyhow.

Pumpkin ~ Tis the season. I LOVE fall.

Popcorn ~ Kettle corn? Love it.

Paint ~ My bathroom needs this SOON!!! And my dining room... and bedroom... the whole house needs it!

Pasta ~ Italian food is the best!!!

Pulse ~ Now THIS is something we should all be thankful for!

Pillows ~ I would be dizzy every morning without these.

Perimeter, parallel, perpendicular, percent, prism, and pi ~ Hehehehehe

Pythagorean Theorem ~ say it with me... a squared plus b squared equals c squared. Very very good. Now what the heck does it mean?

A Math Problem for Nick

Another math problem......

Because I love Elis so much I decided to join in on her mathematical fun today!!

An adult store was having a clearance sale on a particular type of paddle. Three customers came in. The first customer bought half of the remaining paddles plus half a paddle. The second customer bought half of what the first customer left behind plus half a paddle. The third and final customer bought half of what the others left behind plus half a paddle. At that point the store was sold out of this particular paddle. No paddle was ever cut or broken. How many did each customer buy?

My real post for Monday follows this..... scroll down a bit.

The Trucker

I mentioned briefly in a comment that we'd met up with a trucker who talked our legs off at the laundry mat the other day. I HAVE to tell you about him.

It all started when I was loading the first of our 3 loads into a dryer and he was loading a washer. He looked at me and said AND I QUOTE EXACTLY:

"I HATE doing laundry. I'd rather have someone spank my ass than have to do this."

Really, now? Hello, to you also.

Do you know the thoughts that went through my mind? Can you imagine how I wanted to respond to this guy?

I wanted to say, "Oh, for sure. Me, too. As a matter of fact we should have been out here last night doing this but he actually WAS spanking my rear and as you suggested that is way more fun than doing laundry any day."

Yes, indeedy. I fully agree with this... er... gentleman. I'd rather have my ass spanked than do laundry. Who wouldn't?

But who in their right mind would say that to a perfect stranger? So instead I said "Oh, it's not that bad, is it?" And as I wheeled the now empty laundry buggie over to where Adam stood we caught each other's eye and it was all I could do to absolutely completely not lose it in an outrageous, hysterical fit of laughter.

The trucker wasn't done with us. And btw, he had a mouth like a trucker.

He told us stories of being on the road for two months at a time. He told us how his cell phone rings nonstop. He told us how he's been screwed over by motorists phoning the patrol and telling them he nearly forced them off the road intentionally when of course he didn't. He told us of all the employers who have screwed him over. He told us of the one who fired him and wouldn't let him get his stuff out of the truck. Blah blah blah.

I'm trying to remember the details of his conversation but they were pretty boring and self centered. Besides, once he said something about ass spanking I got stuck there for quite a while so I have a feeling I missed a lot of what he said after that. I did hear Adam using a lot of words like "you're kidding" and "really?"

When we left we - of course - had a good laugh over the trucker who suggested ass spanking and I shared my thoughts with Adam. He, of course, already knew what I was thinking. He himself was thinking the exact same as me.

Spanking?

Laundry?

Spanking?

Laundry?

Given the choice, spanking would win out every time, yes?

At one point Adam said something like "forget the hooker scene you mentioned in your blog. I'll be a trucker and you can.... " LOL Ummmm... Kay suggested I be a runaway who hides in Adam's truck. Hmmm... that has potential for sure. Besides, we never did come up with anything on our own.

I'm not sure what my point is. I guess I don't really have one. I just had to let you all know about the trucker who is smart enough to know that getting spanked is way more fun than laundry.

That's all.

A Classical Spanking

This post is just screaming to start off with a very serious warning. As much as I long for that spanking where the tears come and the emotions are released, I'm willing to wait because I know that I'm getting closer to that day. It didn't happen. Not this time. And yet a serious warning is needed. I have a feeling that Theresa, Grace and other Diet soda spewers might want to set all beverages aside for the duration of this post.

Here's how it all unfolded.

As I said, Adam didn't go to work yesterday. He FINALLY had a day off. Years ago, he used to have Tuesdays off. He loved it. I loved it. He would do laundry. Cook dinner. Clean house. He did all the things that I too would do on my day off on Saturday. With that being done twice a week, the house stayed relatively tidy. For the past three years though I haven't had that luxury.

Yesterday was a treat. He cleaned house. Went to the bank. Got his haircut. And he cooked!! It would have been fine if he hadn't because the Friday evening rule in this house is "eat out." But he cooked and it was truly delicious. He made (Quick, Elis, look away) Stuffed Peppers, Brussel
sprouts and rice. Oh, and he baked an awesome Apple Cake.

Let me back up. When I left work yesterday I called him as I always do. Typically - or rather at least half the time - my calls go ignored because he's on the other line, in a meeting or something. It was nice knowing he would answer this time. I asked how his day had been and he told me all of the above.

I then asked "What's the game plan for the evening?" Meaning are we going grocery shopping? Are we going to go do laundry? (Dryer's been down a while and quite frankly I don't care because our washer and dryer are downstairs in an old dirty dungeon type cellar. I much prefer the brand new laundry mat where I can zip in and out in an hour every 10 days or so).

His tone turned kind of matter of fact sounding. He said, "I'm taking my wife to bed and spanking her ass red."

"Oh, really?" My laugh was a bit nervous (Had he read my blog? I wasn't quite sure but suspected that he had.)

"Yes, I have three things out on the bed for you to choose from." (Okay my guess is that yes he's read it because he's never planned a spanking like this... they are usually spur of the moment and just grab whatever is closest which is usually the crop cuz he keeps that safe and sound under his side of the bed)

I asked him if I was allowed to choose them all. He laughed. I wasn't laughing. I was serious. I could pretty much guess what three things were on the bed. I told him I would want all of them PLUS his hand.

When I got home I said to him "It's my turn to ask this... do I have time for a shower before dinner?" Usually it's him that's coming in already late for dinner asking that question. I was feeling grubby.

He said "sure" but never looked up from what he was stirring on the stove. By the way, the house smelled WONDERFUL.

Dinner was great. We made the normal small talk about all the things we typically talk about when there's actually an elephant (MY spanking) looming over our heads.

Later as I was reading blogs, he came to my desk and turned my chair toward him. The fun was just beginning.

Before I go further... Cassie, are you reading? Your blog was the one I was on when this all happened. If you have stats you might wonder what I was doing there for a few hours cuz at this point I kind of forgot about blogs. Hehehehe as Tiggr would say.

Hey y'all. I just looked and this is getting really long so I'm going to stop here and will finish this.... well ... hmmm... tomorrow's my quiz day... and I have something planned for Monday.. and Tuesday is Gratitude Tuesday... and Wednesday... well let's see, I have to get that Sudoku answer out sometime. So ummm... don't worry... I'll get to it by the end of the week, okay?

Stay tuned....

Okay, okay I'm just messing with you... scroll down and keep reading....
